Short Film Competition

As part of the film festival which will be happening in Wellington in October 2014 titled Stillness, & The Moving Image, you have an opportunity to create a short film between 30 seconds and two minutes on the topic of ‘stillness’.

The closing date for submissions is 5 October 2014. All genres are welcome, including animation and experimental.

The winning film will be publicly announced at the opening night launch, and if the winner cannot make it in person, the festival organisers will Skype them in for a conversation from wherever in the world they are.

Selected films will be judged to have best captured the concept. All selected entries will be on a continuous loop in the Film Archive TV Lounge during the week of the festival, and then uploaded so they can be viewed through the festival website site at

The other finalists will be shown before each feature film in the festival.

Competition judges are Loren Taylor, actor, and Mark Sweeney, Co-Director, Stillness, & The Moving Image.

This is your chance to make a short film – what are you waiting for?
