Introduction to Buddhism evening in Invercargill

You are invited to take part an introduction to Buddhism evening down here in the deep south. 🙂

This will be a relaxed and informal evening and is intended to provide some basic information about Buddhism, meditation, Buddhist ethics, and how to live a life of kindness and generosity. This is not going to be heavy on history or philosophy as the emphasis will be on practice, that is, how we choose a set of principles and live by them, even through the tough times.

Although this group is labelled “zen”, we are not rigidly traditional and see the future of Buddhism as being beyond the labels and distinctions that have characterised it up until our era, our secular time. Our approach is a local one, and for us that means combining a bit of tradition (religion), mindfulness (psychology), and ethics (philosophy), in a way that is responsive to our small sangha.

Please do not hesitate to send me an email for more details.
