A neuropsychologist and the author of Hardwiring Happiness: The New Brain Science of Contentment, Calm, and Confidence, Rick Hanson was in New Zealand during January 2015, and gave a talk in Auckland and taught full day workshops in Wellington and Christchurch.

Rick began meditating in 1974. He has trained in several traditions, leads a weekly meditation gathering in San Rafael, California and for nine years served on the board of Spirit Rock Meditation Center.

His Auckland talk, titled The Neurodharma of Craving and Its End, was given on Tuesday 27 January 2015 at Nyima Tashi Kagyu Buddhist Centre, 30b Pollen Street, Newtown, Auckland.

His workshops in Wellington and Christchurch had the title Hardwiring Happiness: Turning Passing Experiences into Lasting Inner Strength and Peace.
