Counting down to the film festival

In a little over a month from now, the film festival “Stillness, & The Moving Image” will be taking place at Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision in Taranaki St, Wellington. A website for the festival can be found at

Patting ourselves on our backs, we believe the programme is excellent and very soon you will be able to book tickets online.

Do please let your friends and dharma buddies know about the festival. If you have Facebook or Google+ we recommend that you “like” the festival website, and if you tweet please tell your followers.

A flyer to promote the festival and the short film competition is being designed and will be printed in the next week or so. If you’d like some to share with friends or place in your favourite cafe, get in touch.

Entries for the competition are coming in, slowly. You are encouraged – and I’d ask you to encourage others – to create a short film of between 30 seconds and 2 minutes on the topic of “stillness” and submit it into the competition.

Partners of the festival are:

  • Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision
  • Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand
  • Secular Buddhism Aotearoa New Zealand

  • Aotearoa Buddhist Education Trust

  • Mindfulness Works
  • Recollective Awareness Meditation Australia
  • Wellington Buddhist Centre
  • Wellington Insight Meditation Community

There’s also been a good number of individual sponsors. If you’d like to find out more about becoming a partner or a sponsor take a look at this web page.

Look forwarding to seeing friends from Wellington and close by at the festival.
