dharma 2.0 – a course in secular Buddhism
19:00–21:00 on Wednesdays in Oct & Nov 2018
Casa del Tibet, Barcelona
During eight sessions, this course articulates a contemporary vision of meditation and practical Buddhist philosophy in an integrative and accessible but also an exhaustive way. Going beyond the reduction of individual anxiety, we will try to answer the questions of what ethical framework can sustain our practice, how we embody it in society, and how to understand the orientation of this practice in a broad and vital sense, instead of localised and technical.
Talks, meditations and debates will be combined and audio provided, with texts translated directly from the Pali, and exercises to explore between sessions. Led by Bernat Font, the course is designed for those who want to bring context to their practice of meditation or mindfulness, and who want to approach the ideas of Gotama, the historical Buddha, from a pragmatic, contemporary, and secular perspective.
