About us

This website is the outcome of the thought, energies and skills of people in Aotearoa New Zealand and elsewhere over a number of years. Our thanks go to those of you who have given and who continue to give your time, effort, energy in so many ways, heartfelt thanks to the members of this website, scattered around the world, who have contributed posts, comments, and more, bringing to life what was the germ of an idea.

And to those who donated – once or repeatedly – so that together we can offer information and activities on secular dharma at no cost, develop communities of practitioners and keep this website up and running, we thank you.

In particular, we thank Stephen Batchelor in France and Winton Higgins in Australia for allowing us to use some of their writings, kalyana mitta – spiritual friends – in the capital city and scattered around Aotearoa New Zealand for their support, and Bernat Font in Catalunya, and Dana Nourie and Ted Meissner of the US Secular Buddhist Association for their encouragement.

Thanks also to Angus Deacon of Alphasprite for the use of the map at the bottom of the page, and artists Fraser Williamson of Red Shark Illustration and Łukasz Ratz for the use of their images.

This website has been painstakingly hand-coded in a custom-built WordPress theme by a generous Hawke’s Bay developer who likes to remain under the radar – webmaestro, we thank you.

Words and spaces have been corralled by Ramsey Margolis.
